Afrikan Kiddies FA salvaged a dramatic late equalizer to secure a 1-1 draw against an impressive Busari Football Academy in Matchday 2 of the 2025 Kwara Kiddies League.

The visitors stunned the home crowd early on when Abefe Olanrewaju opened the scoring following a goalkeeping blunder. Olanrewaju struck from outside the box, and what seemed like a routine save turned into disaster as the goalkeeper fumbled the ball into his own net.

Buoyed by the early breakthrough, Busari FA dominated proceedings and nearly doubled their advantage in the 20th minute. Salaudeen Adua was at the end of a sweeping team move but couldn’t apply the finishing touch.

Adua remained a constant threat and again came close in the second half, forcing a strong save from the Abdullahi Wareez that kept the hosts in contention despite growing frustration in the stands.

Busari continued to press for a second goal that would reflect their dominance, but the home side held on with some resolute defending and goalkeeping heroics.

With just a minute left on the clock, Afrikan Kiddies finally found the breakthrough.

A quick counter-attack saw AbdulRaheem Muhammed race past the defense, showing grit and determination to beat the onrushing goalkeeper and slot the ball into an empty net — much to the relief of the home supporters.

The 1-1 result highlights the growing strength of Busari FA, who only recently earned promotion through the playoffs. Their spirited performance away from home is a clear statement of intent this season, while Afrikan Kiddies will be looking to build on their late comeback in upcoming fixtures.
