Taiwo Hassan’s Strike Not Enough as LA Planet Held by Resilient Achievers

Taiwo Hassan’s early goal proved insufficient as LA Planet Sport Academia were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against a determined Achievers FC on Saturday evening at the KFA Pitch.
LA Planet dominated the early proceedings and took the lead in the 8th minute through a brilliant solo effort from Taiwo Hassan. The promising youngster weaved through defenders before calmly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper to give his side a deserved advantage.
Hassan nearly doubled the lead nine minutes later with a powerful strike from outside the box, but the Achievers goalkeeper produced a stunning save to keep his side in the contest.
The home side continued to press for a second and came agonizingly close just before halftime. Muhammed Ibn Muhammed’s curling left-footed free kick beat the goalkeeper but rattled off the crossbar, allowing Achievers to head into the break still trailing by just a goal.
Achievers came out with renewed determination in the second half and were rewarded just five minutes after the restart. Daud Taofeeq rose highest to nod home a pinpoint cross from Yusuf Ibrahim, leveling the score to the frustration of the LA Planet bench.

Both sides pushed hard for a winner, but solid defending and missed chances saw the match end in a stalemate. The result leaves LA Planet ruing missed opportunities, especially after their strong first-half display, while Achievers will take pride in their spirited comeback on the road.
