Solihu’s stunning free kick seals Surprise FA victory over Afrikan Kiddies

Umar Solihu announced his arrival in the league with a stunning free kick that sealed Surprise FA’s 3-1 victory over Afrikan Kiddies.

The midfielder, who joined during the mid-season window, capped off the win with a moment of brilliance in the second half, curling an unstoppable strike into the top corner from the right flank to leave goalkeeper Zakariyahu Shehu stranded.

Surprise FA got off to a dream start in the second minute when Ajao Bilal broke the deadlock, calmly chipping the ball over the goalkeeper after a clever through ball from Jimoh AbdulSamad.

Afrikan Kiddies hit back in the 17th minute through Abdulafeez Azeez, who delivered a superbly struck free kick to level the contest.

But just five minutes later, Arinze Chukwu restored Surprise FA’s advantage, tapping into an empty net after a costly error from Afrikan Kiddies’ goalkeeper Shehu.

The highlight of the game came after the restart, when Solihu stepped up and curled a delightful free kick into the top corner, sealing the three points for Surprise FA.

Afrikan Kiddies came close to pulling one back in the 43rd minute, but Azeez’s effort narrowly missed the target.

Despite late pressure, Surprise FA’s defense held firm to secure a deserved win.

The victory strengthens Surprise FA’s momentum as they continue to push for a strong finish to the season, while Afrikan Kiddies will be left to rue missed opportunities and defensive lapses.
