The Kwara Kiddies League Selected Team have completed their South-West Tour with a 4-2 defeat to Sporting Lagos at the Maracana Sports Complex in Lagos on Friday.
The youngsters started brightly, with Tobi Adeoye opening the scoring in the first half with a deflected effort from inside the box.
Captain Eko Martins doubled the advantage in the second half after calmly converting from the penalty spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
The South-West Tour was organised to provide the young players with valuable exposure and competitive experience while further supporting their growth and development as they progress in their football careers.
The Selected Team began the tour with a visit to Ilaji Sports Resort, where they played two friendly matches against the resort’s teams.
They recorded a commanding 4-1 victory over the Ilaji FC U16 side before playing out an entertaining 4-4 draw against the senior team.
After spending three days on the tour, the team travelled to Lagos on the fourth day for their final fixture against Sporting Lagos.
The squad departed the Centre of Excellence on Friday morning and returned to Ilorin to continue preparations ahead of the return of the Kwara Kiddies League campaign.
