Afrikan Kiddies produced a resilient display to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Gaa Akanbi Kids in their 2026 Kwara Kiddies League fixture, overcoming a first-half red card to claim all three points.
The encounter got off to a perfect start for Afrikan Kiddies as Abdulraheem Muhammed opened the scoring in the third minute. The forward capitalised on a fine assist from Issa Musbau to put his side ahead and set the tone for an entertaining contest.
Afrikan Kiddies doubled their advantage in the 24th minute through the in-form Abdullahi Ibrahim. The striker rose brilliantly to head home a well-delivered pass from Oduoye Fikayo, giving his side a comfortable 2-0 lead.
However, the match took a dramatic turn in first-half stoppage time when Issa Musbau was shown a second yellow card and subsequently sent off, becoming the first player to receive a red card in the 2026 Kwara Kiddies League season.
Despite being reduced to 10 men, Afrikan Kiddies remained organised at the start of the second half.
Gaa Akanbi Kids eventually found a breakthrough in the 54th minute when Hassan Abdulrasaq pulled one back, setting up a tense finish to the encounter.
