Auditor-General’s Son Captains KFA to Victory Over Father’s Academy

The Auditor-General of Kwara State, Mr. Alayande Fatai, expressed joy and pride after witnessing his biological son, Fatai Muhammed, captain Kwara Football Academy (KFA) to a 1-0 victory over his own team, Rectitude FA, during matchday 6 of the ongoing 4th season of the Kwara Kiddies League.

Speaking after the closely contested encounter, Mr. Alayande reflected on his personal football journey and his investment in grassroots football development:

“My objective is investing in football. Firstly, I was a footballer myself. I played for Kwara State FC many years ago. My father was also a footballer, though he is now a chief imam. I also played for the Kwara State Pepsi Academy back in the day.

Now, I see the same dream and passion in my son, which motivates me to encourage him. That’s one of the key reasons why I invested in Rectitude FA. I also urge other well-meaning Nigerians, especially football lovers in Kwara State, to invest in grassroots football so that together we can develop young talents.”

Commenting on the unique experience of watching his son lead the opposing team, Mr. Alayande added:

“I felt very happy seeing my son, Fatai Muhammed, not only play against my team but also captain the KFA side to victory. Even though my team lost 1-0, I am very proud of him. In football, one side must win while the other loses. It is part of the game, and there’s no hard feeling—this is his profession, and I fully support him.”

The Kwara Kiddies League continues to attract widespread interest and remains a vibrant platform for nurturing young football talents across the state.
