Head coach of Barca Kiddies, Korede Cissey, has expressed confidence that his side can turn their fortunes around when they face Surprise Football Academy in their next Kwara Kiddies League fixture.
Barca Kiddies have endured a difficult start to the season and are still searching for their first victory in the league.
However, Cissey remains optimistic that his team is heading in the right direction and believes the upcoming encounter presents another opportunity to secure a positive result.
“Every match presents a new opportunity, and we remain very confident ahead of the game against Surprise Football Academy,” Cissey said.
“While we have not recorded a win yet, our performances have shown signs of improvement, and the players have been working hard in training. Football is not always about how you start; it’s about how you respond to challenges. We believe this match gives us another chance to get the result we have been working towards.”
Despite their struggles, the coach insists his players remain determined and focused on improving as the campaign progresses.
Cissey also dismissed suggestions that Barca Kiddies are already favourites for relegation, saying it is too early to write off his team.
“I respect everyone’s opinion, but I think it is far too early to label Barca Kiddies as a relegation candidate,” he stated.
“We understand the concerns that come with our current results, but we are focused on the process and the development of the team. The season is still long, and we are determined to prove our critics wrong.”
The Barca Kiddies tactician urged supporters and critics alike to reserve judgement until the end of the season, stressing that his team will continue fighting for every available point.
“My message to those who doubt us is simple: judge us at the end of the season, not after a few matches. We are committed to fighting for every point and ensuring that Barca Kiddies remain competitive,” Cissey concluded.
The clash against Surprise FA could prove to be a crucial moment in Barca Kiddies’ campaign as they seek to end their winless run and revive their hopes of climbing up the Kwara Kiddies League table.
