Defending champions Kwara Football Academy (KFA) returned to winning form on Sunday evening with a well-earned 2–0 victory over House of Prayer Football Academy.
The win was sealed by goals from leading striker Tobi Adeoye and last season’s Player of the Campaign, Eko Martins, as the champions delivered a composed performance in front of their home supporters.
Tobi Adeoye broke the deadlock in the first half with a brilliant finish, curling the ball into the top corner from inside the box to ease early pressure on the defending champions.
House of Prayer Football Academy responded strongly after conceding, increasing their intensity and pushing forward in search of an equaliser.
Their improved spell of pressure tested KFA’s defensive organisation, but the champions held firm to preserve a narrow 1–0 lead heading into halftime.
After the break, KFA regained control of proceedings, dictating possession and steadily asserting their dominance in midfield.
Despite sustained pressure, the second goal proved difficult to find until the final stages of the game, when Eko Martins rose highest to head home and seal the victory.
The result ensured KFA moved level on points with Unicorn Football Academy, Achievers Football Academy, and Koller Football Academy at the top of the league table, with all four sides now locked on seven points apiece.
