MD 2: Three Surprise FA Stars Headline Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation Team of the Week

Three players from Surprise FA have been named in the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation Team of the Week following their outstanding performances in Matchday Two of the 2026 Kwara Kiddies League, where they helped their side secure a shock 0-0 draw against defending champions Kwara Football Academy (KFA).

The recognition highlights standout individual displays across the league, with players selected from Busari FA, Achievers FA, Koller FA, Unicorn FA, Afrikan Kiddies FA, and Prince Bravo FA also making the prestigious weekly selection.

The Team of the Week, sponsored by the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation, is aimed at rewarding excellence and consistency among young talents delivering impressive performances each matchday.

Surprise FA dominated the spotlight with three players included in the selection after their disciplined and resilient performance against KFA.

Goalkeeper Abdulmalik Tajudeen earned his place with a brilliant display between the posts, producing crucial saves to deny the defending champions and secure a valuable clean sheet.

Defender Arinze Chukwu was also recognised for his strong showing at the back, helping to organise a solid defensive unit that frustrated KFA’s attacking efforts.

On the left wing, Yusuf Abdulrahman impressed with his energy, defensive contribution, and threatening runs, playing a key role in Surprise FA’s shock result.

In defence, Isiaq Muhammed of Busari FA was selected after delivering a commanding performance that helped his side bounce back from their opening-day defeat to KFA with a win over Barca Kiddies.

Yunus Abdulmajeed of Achievers FA also earned recognition after a composed defensive display that ensured a clean sheet against House of Prayer FA.

Prince Bravo FA midfielder Barnabas Daniel was included for his influential role in helping his side secure their first win of the season against Future Stars, while Koller FA’s Isiak Hanafi was rewarded for another impressive midfield performance in their thrilling 3-2 victory over Afrikan Kiddies FA.

In attack, Unicorn FA’s Oluwaseyi Adeyemi was selected after playing a decisive role in their 2-1 win over Makamz FA, while Busari FA’s Ibrahim Afolabi earned his spot for his constant attacking threat in their 2-0 victory over Barca Kiddies.

Koller FA striker Abdulwahab Abdulsamad was recognised for another clinical display in a five-goal thriller, while Afrikan Kiddies FA forward Abdullahi Ibrahim was also included despite finishing on the losing side, following an impressive attacking performance.

Busari FA coach Femi Balogun was named Coach of the Week after guiding his team to an important victory, with the selection arranged in a 3-5-2 formation.
